VEDA Day 6 - BriBry UK Tour 2015

Hello there little happy people,

Today's is day 6 of VEDA and the day I got to go see a few of my favourite people on stage.

I went to see BriBry, Candice and Dodie preform at the O2 ABC in Glasgow!

I purposely wore my hufflepuff scarf and tee to show the hufflepuff love to BriBry and to remind people to be themselves and be proud of it which BriBry is a big advocate of.

It was such a lovely sunny day so I only had to wear a jumper and a scarf to Glasgow which is amazing for me as usually I'm freezing and need to wear so many layers to keep cosy.

Anyway I met two of the people I was going with, Craig and Robyn, on the train and we found the last member of our group at Glasgow, Erin. When we arrived in Glasgow we decided to go pick up our tickets for the gig first to save time later but we were told just to get them when we come in for the gig.

So we took a wander back into town and went for a lovely nosy around Waterstones. We spent ages wishing away our money at all the pretty books. Then we discovers waterstones were selling 80 small penguin cIassic novels for 80p each. In the end only Erin and Robyn bought some books and we decided to scout out somewhere to eat some snacks.

Starbucks was the final choice (and only second time I've ever been in). I picke up a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which was lovely and a big mug of chai tea to keep me cosy. Although by this point I was roasting and even had to take off my jumper :P

So after our quick refuel we wandered back to the venue and began queuing for the gig. We got our tickets no problem but I totally forgot about bag searches. I had an overnight bag as I wouldn't be home in time for a bus back home so I was staying at my boyfriends. But since I just had my ear pierced I needed to take sea salt with me to clean it. So this security man was going through all my underwear and clothes and found this box of salt and I was almost certain he was gonna ask if it was drugs or not. Thankfully he didn't and I just had to fully unpack and repack my bag after he finished.

The gig itself was absolutley amazing. I had never been in the ABC before. Dodie was on stage first and she sung a few originals, starting with Paint. She also sung a couple of covers of Riptide and On My Own which were both absolutley gorgeous. As well as originals and covers she sung a new song which had no name but was very good indeed.

BriBry and Candice were on after that and sung mostly originals and new songs. As well as that he sung a cover of chandelier which was very good. He finished the gig with Care and Astronauts which the whole crowd joined in singing with.

Just before the meet and greet section BriBry and Dodie decided to do a "circle time" song where they sing in the middle of the crowd with everybody surrounding them. Adventure time was the song of choice and again, goosebumps littered my skin as the whole venue sung along.

And then we got to have a quick hello and snap with the stars. And yes, BriBry is as tall as everyone says. He was exceptionally friendly and asked if we enjoyed the show. However for me, out of the two, Dodies hugs were better (sorry BriBry). I felt like I was getting greeted by an old fried that I hadn't seen for years and it was a lovely feeling to feel such great friends with someone when it's only the second time you've ever met.  Candice was also at the meet and greet and she had a far smaller queue to meet so we got to spend some time chatting after saying hello and grabbing a quick snap. She was really kind and again I felt like I was talking to someone I've known for ages. And I can't wait till I have the chance to meet them all again.

So eventually we made our way back to the station, picked up some snacks from Burger King and boarded the train home.

All in all it was a fantastic night and a massive thank you to BriBry, Candice and Dodie for putting on the show and for Craig for buying the tickets and letting me tag along with his friends.

I hope you're having great days! :)

VEDA Day 5 - Eostre

Hello there happy little people,

So today's VEDA will be all about the goddess of Easter, Eostre or Ostara.

Now first of all I would like to clarify that I don't believe in any gods of any religion and I fully respect everyone else's decision to believe their own gods and religions. Believe what you want :)

Okay so Eostre is a Pagan goddess of fertility and spring.

The goddess was first mentioned by St.Bede in De temporum ratione :

Bede, c.700
Eostur-monath has a name which is now translated Paschal month, and which was once called after a goddess of theirs named Eostre, in whose honour feasts were celebrated in that month. Now they designate that Paschal season by her name, calling the joys of the new rite by the time-honoured name of the old observance

However, when researchers tried to find out more about this goddess nothing up. Which could suggest that Eostre hadn't really existed before then.

It is said that Eostre's sacred animal is a rabbit. Hence where we get the Easter Rabbit from. The story goes that there was an injured bird that became frozen after winter. Eostre found the bird and gave it it's health back. However the only way she could do that was to transform the bird into a rabbit. When the rabbit finally got back to full health it found a mate. When the rabbit finally had offspring it lay eggs because it used to be a bird. But because of the transformation the eggs were multi-coloured and bright. This, Easter eggs arrived. But this story isn't the only thing that links the Easter rabbit to Eostre.

The rabbit is very much linked to fertility due to their fast reproductive cycles and linked to spring due the spring in their bounces and that you see them jumping in the fields at spring time. Eggs are also linked to fertility for obvious reasons and linked to spring for the chickens and garden birds that lay all their eggs ready for summer.

Now like i said I'm not deliberating her existence or not I just found it interesting learning about a different way to celebrate Easter. So for whatever reason you're celebrating the renewal of life this year, I hope you're having a fantastic time :)

VEDA Day 4 - Weird Dreams: Lunchtime At School

Hey there,

So I seem to always end up having really weird dreams. Most of which are very odd and crazy and don't make sense. However last night I had a really creepy/scary dream.

It all started with a generally regular dream about school. I was in class with my Biology teacher and the bell went for lunch. But before I left class my teacher asked if I could grab her lunch from the canteen. Now at our school (and most others I'm sure) we have a school lunch card system. But basically she didn't actually know her cards number, but she knew what numbers added up to it: 1 1 1 1 1 1 4 4 4 4 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 10 10 10 10 11 11 12 12 12 12 13. Which is 225. So when we eventually work out her number I agree to get her food.

When I leave the classroom however another little boy that I (somehow) know asks me to get his lunch too. To which he then proceeds to rummaged around in his bag to find enough change to buy him food and I agree to buy his as well.

I eventually make it down to the canteen which for some reason has been newly renovated so I stand in the queue to get my teacher and this boy food. But when I get up to the "checkout" bit you no longer need a card to pay. Instead, to have to take a "diet drug" which is worth £5 a day to pay for the food. (I have no idea how or why this is the new alternative either). So I take the bag with the pill in it but don't take the pill and just leave.

However, as I'm walking away I realise I have completely forgotten about my own lunch. So I put my teachers food onto a separate tray so as not to get confused and pick up my food. But then when I'm leaving the canteen that time I forgot to pick up the tray with my teachers food, I think I've lost it or it got stolen or something. I find the little boy I was to buy food for and give him his stuff and then when I'm returning to the canteen again to get more food for my teacher I manage to trip over a bag and my food goes flying.

And so I go back to the canteen I buy more food for the teacher (because I think I lost it). However then, when I'm waiting in the queue something really weird and horrible happens. A different boy standing next to me begins to have a seizure type attack and begins to bleed from his eyes like some kind of horror movie demonic possession. He then collapses and dies within 20 seconds.

Being quite obviously scared of the event I run up the stairs to biology but for some reason the staircase is really spooky and dark. Once I reach the top floor there is a strange audience of stuffed animals and toys staring down at me from the ceiling. There was also a sign on the door saying "We are not murders..." I push the door from the staircase open and on the wall opposite me in the corridor there is another sign saying "unless you count that boy..."

As you can imagine I was pretty terrified and spooked out so I ran to my teachers classroom and proceed to tell her everything that happened. I tell her that I thought it was those "diet drugs" that killed him and that the boy who asked me to buy his lunch had loads of stuffed toys in his bag which I saw when he was rummaging to find change.

Then I woke up feeling very spooked, creeped and pretty frightened.

It was possibly one of the creepiest things I have ever dreamt. I hope I don't have that dream again :/

Anyway I will write again tomorrow,

VEDA Day 3 - Little Kitty Cats

Hello there happy little people,

So for VEDA Day three it's another arty fatty video of cats. Not just any cats though its my boyfriends cat and my dads cat.

The first is Cat.
Yes that's his name. The ginger cat is called Cat. He is big ginger Tom cat (which you can see obviously aha) and he is lovely. He likes to chase mice and birdies and sometimes humans. His favourite place to sleep is either on the sides of the sofa stretched out or on the foot poof thingie all curled up. He meows like a bird. Perhaps to imitate his prey for easier catches. His favourite game to play is to play with a piece of string. But don't be fooled by his fluffy tummy, it's a trap to catch your fingers. He's a very inquisitive cat and is very agile.  He's currently stretched out on my lap for once which is nice. Not often does he grace people with his affection however sometimes he gives me kisses :3

The second cat is Martha my fathers cat. She is a chubby calico cat who loves nothing more than sleeping and eating. She does not chase birds or mice as that would require movement, a notion that she is not familiar with. Although she once tried to stalk ducks to which the ducks waddled off thinking "what the hell is she trying to do...". She is a very friendly cat but is very wary of strangers. Martha is very happy to be hugged and rubbed and tickled and kissed. She moults all year round as she has a very thick coat of fluff. Unfortunately she has an asthma/hayfever type condition so sometimes in spring and summer she gets horrible attacks and needs to be rushed to the vet. But apart from that she is a very happy healthy cat :)

Cats are wonderful animals to have. Personally I'm more of a dog person (having two of my own) but one things cats do that at least my dogs can't is sleep on your lap. My lurchers are just a little too big to lie on my lap. But I think when you receive attention from a cat it's a little more special. Considering how independent they are. That is another great thing about cats is that the require far less watching over as dogs. Whenever I leave the house I feel sorry for my pups as they'll be lonely until I come home. But with cats, wether you're there or not doesn't matter to them. It only means the difference between a lap and food or not.

So are you cat or dog people? Even still I have to say, I am a dog person but I do really love cats.

VEDA Day 2 - Love At First Sight

Hello happy little people,

Do you believe in love at first sight?
I do.

But not in the way that most people imagine that phrase to mean. I believe that when you first meet someone, they might just be another person. You neither love or hate them they're just another human being that happens to be present. And it's when you start to get to know someone that you really start to see them.

When you start to learn all their little quirks and individualities. When you can see the corners of their mouth crinkle when they smile. The way their eyes shine in the sun. When their voice no matter how loud, quiet, soft or rugged is the only way you want to hear things. Where their feckles are and how they like their tea. The way they laugh and sneeze and fall asleep.

But it's never just physical things that make you fall in love. Sure having an attractive face or a built body or having desireable features (respective to whatever you find attractive) is helpful, but a pretty face won't keep your heart warm on those cold nights alone.

That's what's in the inside. The way they know exactly what to say to make you feel better when you're down. When you think the same thing because of similar interests. Or even the way they listen and stare as you talk about things you love just because they want to know. When they remember what you said weeks ago. If even if you could never pay them back, they are generous not just with money, but their time, effort, happiness and even their heart. Because let me tell you I know how hard it is to share your heart and open it for someone else to see. And when someone respects, forgives, trusts and encourages your heart, that's what makes it all worth it.

But there's still that one moment. It maybe doesn't happen at once. Maybe it takes weeks, months, years even till you realise what's happened. But when you realise that you're truly seeing them, you're seeing them for the first time. And if in that first time you see that you love their personality and who they are, as a friend or a partner, you click. And you fall in love at first sight.

And once that has happened they become beautiful. Even if they were attractive before, now they are gorgeous in every way you could imagine. And their personality shines through them, brightening them and illuminating all their features until nothing could ever be better.

I believe in love at first sight.
Do you?

VEDA Day 1 - Travellers

Hello there happy little people,

So sorry that today's video is such a poopy iPhone video but it was all I had time to do. I am away till Sunday night so won't be able to upload anymore VEDA till then but I promise I will catch up! :)

Anyway, today's VEDA is called travellers and it features me, my black and white dog Moss and a little appearance from Bracken our other dog travelling to and from our villiage. The main focus is this gorgeous little lane we cut through to get home where there's a tiny stream and birds singing in the trees. It's honestly such a lovely thing to hear in the morning. The quiet bubbling and splashing from the stream and the twittering and tweetering from the trees.

If I get a chance I will re-film on my proper camera as it truly is one of the nicest things to walk through every morning and night.

Hope you are all having a lovely Wednesday and I'll update you tomorrow! :)

VEDA 2015

Hello there little happy people :)

I'm writing this little blog post today just to let you guys know, IM DOING VEDA THIS YEAR! Yes that means you'll be getting a wee video from me every day and hopefully they will all be different. I'm planning a couple of reviews (including the one from the LUSH blogger night), some arty farty little videos, some vlogs and whatever else people suggest. I might even throw in a few hauls or tags if I feel like it aha :P

I have always wanted to do a VEDA and I can't wait to join in this year. I'm really hoping I keep up with it and manage to put out at least 30 videos. Even if I delete them afterwards or they are just little short videos I really want to complete the whole month.

Also, just a little side note, I have decided that I'm gonna upload at least one photograph per blog because I like sharing my pretty pictures :3

Anyway I hope you are all having a fantabulous day!
